Theft of Swords by Michael J. Sullivan

A good introduction can set the stage for the rest of series and by introducing the main characters of Royce and Hadrian as he does Sullivan set the tone and had me hooked for the rest of the book.

The rest of the novel doesn’t disappoint either as the narrative bounces along with a sense of wit and fun. As a bonus each book is relatively short by fantasy standards and so you get a sense of conclusion to plot strands without having to wade your way through thousands of pages.

I’d give this a light 4 out of 5 stars. I suspect that non-fantasy readers will enjoy it even more than hardcore fantasy fans.
